Sandy

Sandy, I miss you.

Sandy was woven into more than twenty years of my life — through Staffords, judging, travel, laughter, and friendship. She taught me so much and always encouraged me to be myself, trust my decisions, and make a difference.

She always spoke her mind. She was never cruel, but she was real, and not everyone knew what to do with that kind of honesty. I did. I valued it, trusted it, and often needed it.

When Sandy told you something, good or bad, she meant it. I listened. I learned. And now I am blessed to carry forward so much of what she taught me.

We spoke just before she left us. She told me she was proud of me for ignoring the noise, trusting myself, and continuing to make good decisions. I had no idea then how much I would come to hold onto those words.

I miss her terribly — her voice, her humor, her honesty, and the comfort of knowing she was only a phone call away.

I will always be grateful for the years, the miles, the memories, and most of all, the privilege of calling Sandy my friend.
